When you start any Office for Mac application such as Microsoft Word for Mac, PowerPoint for Mac, Excel for Mac or Outlook for Mac, the Welcome screen does not have any buttons such as OK or Close to continue. The screen resolution is too low and the Close button is on the bottom. If you're trying to activate Office for Mac and have received error code 0xD000001c, this is because your Mac's name contains invalid characters when being sent to our server. To fix this issue, update your Mac's name to remove the invalid characters. It appears that your code downloads a file and stores it in the C drive, and then you set a path to that file using this line of code: var filePath = 'C: Welcome.docx'; Am I understanding this correctly so far?

Office for Mac that comes with a Microsoft 365 subscription is updated on a regular basis to provide new features, security updates, and non-security updates. The following information is primarily intended for IT professionals who are deploying Office for Mac to the users in their organizations.

Note

If the user has an Office 365 (or Microsoft 365) subscription and is signed in with a work or school account, or if the user has Office LTSC Standard for Mac 2021 or Office Standard 2019 for Mac, then the user can't turn off connected experiences that download online content. When you try to install Microsoft Office 365 Suite, it tells you that you need Mac OS 10.14 Mojave. When you go to system preferences, it says there are no updates waiting. You want our advice and guidance so you can get your Mac on 10.14 Mojave or 10.15 Catalina or 11 Big Sur, then get the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
