Patch Notes:

• This patch will work the existing registered versions of Prey (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, or 1.3)
• If you bought the game through Steam, DO NOT use this patch, Steam customers are updated through the Steam system.
• If you bought the game from Triton, DO NOT use this patch, Triton customers will be handled separately - please see this link for further info.

Linux Client

As of December 2008, you can finally play Prey on Linux. While 3D Realms or 2K Games do not support it, there is a Linux client available. It does require that you buy the full game, either the 3 CD set, the DVD Collector's Edition, or a copy downloaded via Steam.

Once you have that, you can make your way to the Icculus page for Prey, and obtain the files you will need to run Prey on Linux. You can reach that page here:

Prey Software Development Kit (SDK)

If you're looking to develop mods for Prey, you're going to want the SDK. Aimed at more serious fans of the game, the Prey SDK includes all of the game code (for building your own Game DLL), as well as some code examples/tutorials which will explain a few of the basic things you should know before diving into the code-base. Before we start

We're sorry that you want to uninstall Prey. In case you have any trouble, please give us a shout on Twitter or Facebook.

Windows

There's an Uninstall.exe file located in the Prey install folder, C:WindowsPrey by default. Double-clicking on that will remove all traces of Prey, provided that you have administrator rights on the computer.

If the Uninstaller.exe file is not available, then it means that Prey was installed using the MSI packages. That's intended for corporate environments, and to uninstall Prey you'll need to run the MSI installer again. Just grab the latest MSI package for Prey, run, and then follow the instructions.

If it still doesn't work...

Open a command prompt as an admin, and run the following command.

This will disarm the Prey installation from your system. After it's done, you can then delete the C:WindowsPrey directory.

macOS and Ubuntu

Removing Prey from Unix-based systems is quite straightforward. You just need to open a terminal ( OS X) and run the following command:

That will effectively delete all traces of Prey from your system. If you get a command not found message on the terminal, then it means that you're running an older version of Prey. To remove that one use this command instead.

Android

Prey Mac Download Windows 10

Prey for Android is a bit difficult to remove because thieves shouldn't have it easy. If you're sure you don't need this protection anymore, please follow these instructions:

1. On the device, go to Global Settings > Security > Device administrators.
2. Disable permissions for Prey.
3. Uninstall Prey as any other app.

iOS

iPhones and iPads don't support any kind of special protection for apps, so you should be able to uninstall Prey as any other.
